Rivals/On3 recently updated their list of the top 300 recruits in the 2026 class. In the first edition, only one of Rutgers' commits made the top 300; however, in the updated edition, two Scarlet Knights found themselves named.
The first and highest ranked of these commits is edge rusher Wydeek Collier. In the first edition of the list, he found himself just outside the top 300 prospects at 310. Now he has jumped over 200 spots and found himself inside the top 100 at No. 92. There are three main factors
as to why he took such a seismic jump in the rankings. The first one was that he was relatively unknown when the rankings were first released, so he wasn’t on the radar of the major recruiting sites.
The two other reasons go hand in hand with the work he has put in this offseason. The second reason is that he put on a decent amount of weight to make himself more college ready, and the third reason is that he is having great showings at various camps against five-star talent.
The second of the two to make the rivals top 300 list is Wide Receiver Dyzier Carter. Carter was on the list during the first go around, being placed at No. 216. He has moved up as well, finding his way into the top 200 at No. 184. He, like Collier, has let strong camp performances speak for themselves as he moves his way up the boards.
Some other notable rises in the rankings are Wide Receiver Elias Coke, who jumped from No. 682 to No. 400, Offensive Tackle Tavian Branch, who jumped from No. 675 to No. 540, Interior Offensive Lineman Logan Anthony, who jumped from No. 1088 to No. 762, Cornerback Brandon Murray, who jumped from No. 981 to No. 543, and Quarterback Xavier Stearn who moved up from No. 1104 to No. 733.
