Once again, it has been a fun few weeks in July as La Familia took the court once again in The Basketball Tournament. Unfortunately, this year’s run came up short of a regional final as they dropped Tuesday’s game against Eberlein Drive, 71-70.
Holding control the majority of the game, Eberlein Drive really let their foot off the gas to start the fourth quarter, allowing the former Cats to get back into the game and even hold the lead heading into the Elam Ending.
However, it was then the Kentucky
alumni that let their foot off the gas in the Elam ending time to eventually let Eberlein Drive secure the win of a deep three.
It’s always fun to watch some basketball in the summer, but this TBT was electric for the BBN as we got to witness Archie Goodwin and Kahlil Whitney take center stage for this La Familia team, as well as the Harrison Twins, Doron Lamb, and several other beloved members of the BBN.
Until next year, folks. Let’s start the campaign now to get John Wall on the roster.
A fan just told Ansley Almonor not to be a stranger and to come back to Lexington anytime, and Almonor replied, "I definitely won't be a stranger to Lexington."
