Barcelona are reportedly willing to offer midfielder Frenkie de Jong a new contract at the club that would keep him in Catalunya until 2028.
De Jong is now into the final 12 months of his existing deal, and Barca are thought to be eager to secure an extension before the start of the new campaign.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca are basically offering another two seasons - taking him to 2028 - but with an option for an additional year.
The problem at the moment is that Barca don’t know who to negotiate
with. De Jong was keen to part company with agent Ali Dursun but the situation is not clear at the moment.
The Dutch midfielder has spoken publicly about his future recently, however, and made it clear he is hoping to sign a new contract at Barcelona.
If he does put pen to paper on this deal and the extra year option is taken up, then De Jong will be 32 and celebrating 10 years at Barcelona when the contract finally expires in 2029.
