Last night was fun, huh? The Braves, outside of one half inning, completely bossed the game versus the New York Yankees Friday night. Spencer Strider took their per diem last night. Now it’s Joey Wentz’s turn. It’s about time too. He was drafted in the first round (40th overall) in 2016. So he’s about 6-7 years behind schedule on making that first Braves start. It’s cool, my career is about that far behind. And it’s never too late to catch up.
The most innings Joey Wentz has thrown in a season with
minor league action added is about 135. He hasn’t started a MLB game in since 2023. He’s a great multiple inning relief pitcher option, but IDK how he will look in the second time through the order.
So how many batters will Joey Wentz face in today’s game? How many should he? I would say 9 to 12. I’ll take that cutter, but IDK how it will look in the fourth inning. I think we all know that it will be 2 or 3 batters too many, but we’re looking for that total number today.
