The preseason ACC football poll was released on Wednesday afternoon, with the Clemson the heavy favorite, though not as close to unanimous as I’d have guessed. NC State was picked 10th.

Florida State’s crootin’ site guys must be consuming the preseason Kool-Aid at dangerous levels, as the Seminoles nabbed four first-place votes. That, uh, yeah I don’t know about that, man. Virginia Tech also received a first-place vote for
some reason. Stranger things have happened, I guess, though none come to mind.
There are a lot of different ways this league could stack up from like four through twelve, and I can’t really argue with the more pessimistic opinion of NC State that’s on display here. State’s got as many questions as the other teams in that part of the poll.
I’m mildly surprised UNC didn’t net a random first-place vote, but it’s true that Bill Belichick is no Brent Pry.
