WHAT'S THE STORY?

MLB: Draft
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

(40-57) Gwinnett Stripers @ (49-46) Memphis Redbirds - 8:05 PM ET

Pitching Probables

GWI: Brett Sears (0-1, 14.73 ERA)

MEM: Aaron Wilkerson (4-2, 4.17 ERA)

Brett Sears is out for revenge as he looks to make up for his rough outing his last time out as he gets the ball in game 2 of the 6 game series against the Memphis Redbirds. Sears is coming off of a rough 6 earned run appearance on July 12th. He looks to lead the Stripers to back-to-back victories after their 4-3 win. Carlos Rodrìguez played a big role last night as the outfielder picked up his fourth homer, as well as his 13th

stolen base for the Stripers. Other players to watch would be CF Jarred Kelenic who had a run scoring triple yesterday, and second baseman Luke Waddell who is hitting .298 with a .418 OBP since returning from injury.

(48-39) Chattanooga Lookouts @ (37-51) Columbus Clingstones - 7:05 PM ET

Pitching Probables

CHT: TBD

COL: Rolddy Muñoz (0-1, 2.25 ERA)

The Clingstones look to rebound from a close 6-5 loss last night and turn to Rolddy Muñoz to pick up the spot start. Rolddy has been great this season both for the Clingstones and Stripers and remains a legitimate option for the Atlanta Braves. Big games for Kevin Kilpatrick Jr., and Kobe Kato, along with a two hit performance by David McCabe helped drive the Clingstones offense to 5 runs - unfortunately it just wasn't enough. Ethan Workinger and Geraldo Quintero are the other two players, outside of McCabe, that have an OPS north of .700 on the season.

(38-50) Rome Emperors @ (53-35) Hudson Valley Renegades - 12:05 PM ET

Pitching Probables

ROM: Garrett Baumann (2-6, 4.24 ERA)

HVR: Josh Grosz (4-7, 4.13 ERA)

The Rome Emperors turn to the hard throwing Garrett Baumann to right the ship and get back into the win column after last night’s tough 4-3 defeat to the Renegades. After tying the game in the 8th inning with 3 runs, Adam Maier just ran out of gas and allowed the go-ahead run in the bottom half of the inning to give the Renegades the win. Will Verdung broke out with another 3 hit performance and has cemented himself as the top performing position player on the team. Ambioris Tavarez, Patrick Clohisy, and Keshawn Ogans are other players to watch for.

(45-44) Augusta GreenJackets @ (50-40) Hickory Crawdads - 7:00 PM ET

Pitching Probables

AUG: Cam Caminiti (0-1, 3.22 ERA)

HCK: Enrique Segura (0-0, 3.44 ERA)

The GreenJackets look to add on to yesterday’s impressive win and turn to Cam Caminiti who is still looking for his first win of the season despite some great starts. The big names for the GreenJackets got it done yesterday so look for Eric Hartman, Owen Carey, Isaiah Drake, Nick Montgomery, and now Luis Guanipa and Juan Mateo to lead the charge today against the Crawdads.
