The Philadelphia Eagles are re-signing undrafted rookie wide receiver Ife Adeyi, according to a report from Aaron Wilson.
Adeyi previously attended the Eagles’ rookie minicamp back in early May on a tryout basis. The Eagles signed him to their roster on June 4 only to cut him two days later to make room for their Keilan Robinson waiver claim
. Adeyi still participated in the Eagles’ sole mandatory minicamp practice on a tryout basis. After recently working out for the Atlanta Falcons and New York Giants,
Adeyi is back in Philly. He’s clearly a long shot to make the roster but it’ll be interesting to see if his speed shows up in practice and the preseason games (assuming he actually sticks around this time).
The Eagles wanting to add another body at wide receiver could be related to both DeVonta Smith (back tightness) and Danny Gray (finger) missing practice time. Terrace Marshall Jr. also got banged up on Tuesday, though the Adeyi signing was reported before that development took place.
The corresponding move to make room for Adeyi on the roster remains to be seen. Stay tuned for updates.
