This has not been a good week for mentally-challenged UFC veterans.
Former UFC middleweight champion, Sean Strickland, was suspended by Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) for blowing a gasket and rushing the cage to assault a fighter during the Tuff-N-Uff 145 event last month in Las Vegas.
That’s according to a report from MMA Fighting.
Strickland, 34, was operating as a licensed cornerman for Miles Hunsinger, who lost to Luis Hernandez by way of second-round submission. Hernandez threw shade at Hunsinger’s
corner after the win, prompting Strickland to attack.
Probably not a great move while operating under a NSAC license.
Strickland’s suspension remains temporary until the commission can convene to rule on possible disciplinary action, which could include a fine or extended suspension (or both). Until then, Strickland remains ineligible to compete or serve as cornerman.
“Tarzan” (29-7) has not seen action since losing to Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 312.
