Inaki Williams has hit out at Barcelona over this summer’s failed pursuit of his brother Nico.
In a rather bizarre rant, Inaki has laid all the blame at Barcelona’s door, conveniently forgetting that it was brother who kicked the whole saga off by instructing his agent to meet with Deco.
Here’s what he’s had to say, as reported by Gerard Romero.
“Many lies have been told. We all know how football works and the pressure they wanted to exert,” he told reporters.
“Barça conducted a media campaign that they
thought would work. That external noise has done a lot of damage and has tarnished things.
“What happened with Nico hasn’t been easy. They broke one of his car windows... Many times I’ve had to stop him.”
Williams went on to sign a new contract at Athletic until 2035, while Barcelona have gone on to bring in Marcus Rashford on loan and talented youngster Roony Bardghji.
