Three Dodgers minor leaguers won player or pitcher of the week awards on Monday, including a pair of repeat winners. Double-A Tulsa outfielder Chris Newell took home Texas League honors. In the Low-A California League, Rancho Cucamonga outfielder Jaron Elkins and pitcher Sterling Patick won awards for the week of July 21-27.

Newell was 7-for-18 with three doubles, a home run, and six walks last week against Springfield, and also stole three bases, hitting .389/.542/.722. He accounted for the only

run for the Drillers on Saturday with a solo home run, part of a three-hit game in which Newell also walked.

This is the third Texas League award won by a Tulsa player this season. Peter Heubeck was named pitcher of the week for May 12-18 and June 2-8.

Elkins drove in 10 runs in six games for the Quakes last week against Visalia, hitting .357/.400/.643 with five doubles, a home run, three stolen bases, nine runs scored, and three multi-hit games.

The California League stolen base leader hit a grand slam on Wednesday. This is the second player of the week this season for Elkins, the Dodgers’ eighth-round draft pick in 2023. He also won the week of June 16-22.

Patick has two hitless starts this season, and won California League pitcher of the week both times. This time his gem came on Saturday, when the 20-year-old left-hander set career highs with six innings and seven strikeouts, allowing only a walk and a hit batter.

Patick also won pitcher of the week for the period of April 28-May 4.
