Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Florian Wirtz was very aggressive and very public, with several high ranking officials like Uli Hoeneß openly speaking
about their desire to see the German superstar in Munich. In the end, Wirtz chose Liverpool FC over Bayern, though. And the Bavarians’ resulting scramble for a replacement saw them land in Liverpool again, though with Wirtz’s teammate Luis Díaz.Having sealed a move to Bayern, Díaz was asked at his unveiling if he spoke with Wirtz and about the latter’s
experience in the Bundesliga and the Colombian revealed he did: “I spoke to Florian a few times and he told me that the Bundesliga is very intense, similar to the Premier League, that it was very physical, the stadiums are always full,” Diaz explained, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “He also told me that Munich is a very nice city and that I’d enjoy it. He wished me luck. I thank him for that.”
How about that? Sometimes, the machinations of the world can be very strange.
