At this point, it’s safe to say that Liverpool have gotten themselves firmly embroiled in a transfer saga involving Newcastle’s wantaway striker Alexander Isak.
Despite all of Newcastle’s posturing around Isak, it seems pretty clear that they are willing to do a deal for the player, on the condition that they can bring in a player that somewhat resembles a striker. That player, it seems, is Benjamin Sesko, who has been linked to both the Magpies and Manchester United.
Newcastle have reportedly taken
the next step by submitting a formal offer worth a total of €80 million to Energy Drink Leipzig, according to Sky Sports.
There have been conflicting reports over the last several days over The Sesko’s preference. Some journalists have indicated that he has chosen Newcastle, while others insist that he has not chosen between Newcastle, United, or remaining at Leipzig for another year.
Honestly, it would be nice if Newcastle stopped shitting the bed in the transfer market and just signed someone so we could finish poaching their player.
Isak, for his part, is experiencing his own Great Sadness, and is now training with his former club Real Sociedad in Spain.
There is still a month left to go until the transfer window slams shut, but only two weeks until the first Premier League match, and three weeks until Liverpool travel to Newcastle. So, it would be nice to get the Isak signing over the line so he can terrorize their defenders instead of ours.
