Hansi Flick has been told how he can create a “devastating machine” at Barcelona as his prepares for his second season in charge of the Catalan giants.
The German coach won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup in his debut campaign and will be eyeing more titles in the coming campaign.
Former Barcelona winger Lobo Carrasco says if Flick’s side can get their pressing right next season - in a similar way to Luis Enrique’s PSG - they will certainly take some stopping.
“I hope Flick develops
ADnew mechanisms to avoid being predictable. That’s what I like most about him,” he told Mundo Deportivo.
“He can create a devastating machine. I don’t know if we’ll ever reach the level of Luis Enrique’s PSG without the ball, but if Barça can perfect their pressing, the whole team will win.”
Carrasco also thinks that returning midfielder Marc Bernal has the potential to make a big difference for Barcelona.
“I’ll give you a name: Marc Bernal. He’s capable of playing as a central midfielder and changing Hansi Flick’s system. In the youth teams, he dominated the entire game; everything went through him,” he added.
“He’ll be able to give more freedom to the two central midfielders, Pedri and De Jong, in attack. There will be games where Bernal will be alone. I think he’s an impressive player.”
Fans don’t have to wait too much longer to see Barca back in action. Flick’s side play their first pre-season friendly on Sunday, July 27 against Vissel Kobe.
