Bryan Zaragoza’s whole stay at Bayern Munich has been a confusing one. Brought in on loan six months before his official contract started, Zaragoza rather disappeared in the depth chart under previous head coach Thomas Tuchel. Things were even worse under new head coach Vincent Kompany, with the Belgian coach jettisoning the Spaniard before he even played a single minute of competitive football. Zaragoza left on loan to Osasuna and performed fairly well, but missed months of football due to some

serious injuries.

Ergo, there were not many suitors for the former Granada CF player during the summer transfer window when he returned to Munich. Bayern made it clear Zaragoza had no place in the team by excluding him from the Club World Cup squad, yet it took nearly two months for Zaragoza to find the right club. That he finally did, though, with Bayern’s website officially confirming his season long loan move to Europa League participants Celta Vigo:

Bryan Zaragoza will be spending another season in Spain’s La Liga. FC Bayern have loaned the 23-year-old winger to Celta Vigo, who finished seventh in the table last season, until next summer. Zaragoza has been under contract at the German champions since January 2024 and spent last season on loan at Osasuna.

Meanwhile, Celta Vigo’s website confirmed an option to buy:

Celta and Bayern Munich have reached an agreement for the loan with a purchase option of the Málaga-born winger, Bryan Zaragoza.

Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg tracked down some more details on said option buy:

More exclusive details on Bryan #Zaragoza: €13m obligation to buy will be triggered based on a realistic number of appearances, and Celta Vigo finishing at least between 11th and 13th in the league table.

Bild reporter Nicholas Linner has more details on the loan itself, as captured by @iMiaSanMia_GER:

Celta Vigo pays the full salary of Bryan Zaragoza for the one-year loan and a loan fee of approximately €1.25 million.

Finally, Celta Vigo’s twitter administrator must have heard of the frequent comparisons of Zaragoza to cartoon character Phineas Flynn Fletcher from the Disney series Phineas and Ferb. Certainly, Zaragoza’s announcement video was a direct reference to this comparison. Just take a look at this beauty on Celta Vigo’s official twitter account.
