Hall of Fame game thread: Trey Lance is under the spotlight

There will be plenty of familiar faces in the Los Angeles Chargers and Detroit Lions preseason game on Thursday. Former San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh is patrolling the sidelines for the Chargers.

Harbaugh came out and said the starters won’t play, which means Trey Lance will be front and center. Who knows how long Lance will play into this game, but perhaps he’ll get a full quarter. Backing up Lance is Taylor Heinicke, and after Heinicke, if you’re planning on watching this game for

whatever reason, is DJ Uiagalelei.

On the other side, the Detroit Lions are bound to look different under new offensive coordinator John Morton and defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard. Head coach Dan Campbell will rest his starters, which means we should be in for a heavy dosage of Hendon Hooker and Kyle Allen.

The quarterbacks in the game should be entertaining enough to make this watchable, if preseason is your thing.
