Coming off their first series win at Coors Field in 2025 when they took two of three from the Minnesota Twins, the Rockies (25-76) will now try to make it two in a row with a rubber-match win today at Coors Field against St. Louis (52-50).

Unfortunately, Germán Márquez, who was scheduled to make the start today for Colorado, will be unable to make the start. Instead, he was moved to the 15-day IL this morning with right bicep tendinitis.

Tanner Gordon (1-2, 4.24 ERA) will make the start in Márquez’s place. In his previous three starts this season, Gordon has totaled 10 strikeouts with three walks and two homers in 17 innings.

After a rough 2025 debut against the Tigers on May 8, when Gordon gave up seven runs (four earned) on nine hits in 6 13 innings, Gordon showed improvement in his last two. Against the Yankees in New York on May 23, Gordon gave up two runs on five hits with four strikeouts, two walks, and one homer in six innings to earn his lone win of the year. On May 28 vs. the Cubs, Gordon again surrendered two runs, this time on six hits, including one homer, and one strikeout with no walks in 4 23 innings. In 12 starts for Triple-A Alburquerque, Gordon has gone 1-4 with a 5.25 ERA in 58 13 innings with 47 strikeouts.

Andre Pallante (5-6, 4.71) will get the start for the Cardinals. The 26-year-old RHP is in his fourth season after debuting in 2022 with St. Louis. Pallante has posted seven quality starts and 67 strikeouts to 34 walks in 105 innings over 19 starts this season.
