Man, that was some Trade Deadline. The Yankees entered the day with Ryan McMahon, Amed Rosario, and Austin Slater already in tow, and in the final hours before the 6pm ET deadline yesterday, they really improved the bullpen by adding David Bednar, Jake Bird, and Camilo Doval to the mix. News of the Doval deal and the swap for José Caballero—who was all the way ... in the opposing dugout—both came within the final 10 minutes. It was a helluva scramble, but PSA provided great coverage! Check it out here.
We have more work coming today, too. Peter will summarize the Yankees’ Trade Deadline moves, John will review the community thoughts on the busy day, Nolan will give every Baby Bomber traded away a mini-swan song, and Michael will consider how the moves affect payroll and future plans. Also, in our more standard programming, Josh will preview this three-game weekend series against the Marlins that will show off some newcomers, I’ll have the brief Rivalry Roundup, Jake will continue our 2000 Yankees Diary series, and Madison will answer your mailbag questions.
