Commute: More Mizzou Football News

WHAT'S THE STORY?

Welcome to the Morning Commute

Today we’re talking about Mizzou Football.

Numerous Mizzou football athletes had nominations and appearances on preseason watchlists on Tuesday as Missouri’s fall camp is officially in full throttle.

Mizzou fans saw a good start to Tuesday as 15 Tigers were on the Shrine Bowl 1,000 Watch List. Quarterback Beau Pribula notably made the list, as he’s in a starting QB race with Sam Horn and Matt Zollers.

The Cayden Green hype train continues as he is added to another watchlist. Green will look to continue growing his draft stock this season and he should be a key part of Mizzou’s offense.

Connor Tollison appeared as one of the speakers at this year’s SEC Media Days and I’d expect him to take a captain role this season. He should help lead an offense that has a lot of new faces.

“But is the quarterback competition just Pribula and Horn? While incredibly unlikely for a freshman QB — Eli Drinkwitz says that Matt Zollers isn’t “out of it just yet”.”

This would be a pretty interesting race if Matt Zollers were to make a serious case. Definitely something to follow as fall camp continues.

“He was a dynamic runner, however, as he got close to 850 sack-adjusted yards and 8 touchdowns on the ground with a 6.8 yards per carry average. He is the guy this year - mainly because he’s the only guy left - so I understand not wanting to run him too much, but that’s also the best proven weapon at this point.”

Taylen Green will answer a lot of questions for the Arkansas and it sounds like coach Sam Pittman has a lot of confidence in the teams guy.
