NY Daily News | Peter Sblendorio: The Yankees selected Max Kilby with their first-round pick in this year’s draft, and while there was little doubt that they would get him to sign it’s becoming official today. Kilby was at the team’s Tampa facility on Thursday, and after completing his physical took some questions from the press. The 18-year-old said that he’s “super excited to get to work,” indicating that he’ll forego his commitment to Clemson University and go pro with the goal of putting on the pinstripes.

ESPN | Kiley McDaniel: Speaking of Kilby, his selection in the draft mixed up the Yankees’ organizational prospect rankings as McDaniel slotted him in as the team’s seventh-best prospect. Other shakeups include Cam Schlittler moving into the top three from sixth place, Bryce Cunningham and Ben Hess entering the top 10 at No.’s 5 and 6, respectively, and Roderick Arias sliding from fifth to ninth.

MLB Trade Rumors | Steve Adams: With the All-Star break in the rearview mirror, the trade deadline is front and center now and the Yankees have some moves to make. Fortifying the rotation is one of their options, and they’ve shown interest in Pittsbrugh’s Mitch Keller. Keller’s been stellar for the Pirates this year, pitching to a 3.48 ERA and severely limiting free passes with just a 5.5 percent walk rate, but he’s also signed for another three seasons after 2025 at an economical $54.5 million, a solid option for a middle of the rotation arm.

MiLB | Matt Kardos: Mike Fransoso is getting a homecoming on Somerset’s coaching staff as their hitting coach, joining the bench this year after spending the last five years in the Mariners organization. Fransoso was a player for Somerset in 2018-2019, when the Patriots were still in the Atlantic League, but now he gets to work with his hometown team to develop future major leaguers.

Baseball America | Josh Norris: The DSL All-Star Game is coming up, and the Yankees have a prospect to watch in it. Carlos De La Rosa, a left-handed pitcher, caught the eye of scouts by flashing a 96 mph fastball with a big slider and so-so changeup. Perhaps we’ll see his name on one of these top 10 prospects lists in future years.
