Could Bayern Munich’s signing of Luis Díaz end up costing them an acquisition of VfB Stuttgart attacker Nick Woltemade?
Maybe...maybe not...but one report thinks it could play a role in what happens with Bayern Munich’s pursuit of the 23-year-old. CaughtOffside captured a report indicating that Manchester United
and Newcastle United are poised to make a move for Woltemade.Ironically, Newcastle’s interest could also be drive by Bayern Munich’s sining of Díaz as the Colombian’s former club, Liverpool
FC, is attempting to bring in Newcastle attacker Alexander Isak:
Newcastle and Manchester United are reportedly both keen on the potential £40m transfer of Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade. The Germany international, who stands at a whopping six feet and six inches tall, has shone in the Bundesliga and is attracting plenty of interest this summer.
Newcastle and Man Utd are now being strongly linked with an interest in Woltemade, as it may be that Bayern Munich’s previous interest has cooled, according to the Sun. Their report suggests that the signing of Luis Diaz could mean they’re now less likely to sign another forward, which could be good news for Newcastle and United as they look for alternatives to Benjamin Sesko.
Sesko is one of the main names dominating headlines at the moment, with the Magpies and the Red Devils notably both targeting him, according to The Athletic. However, if a deal proves too expensive, Woltemade looks like an alternative well worth looking at, with the Sun reporting that he’d cost just £40m.
As of now, Bayern Munich has had no competition for Woltemade. If Manchester United and Newcastle United can convince the attacker to join them, the price on the Germany international could get even higher.
The Bavarians finalized the much-anticipated signing of Luis Díaz from Liverpool FC to give the team a new look at left-wing? Will the 28-year-old get an early starting nod or will Vincent Kompany hold him out a bit longer? That will be just one of the key decisions made for the match against Olympique Lyon at the Allianz Arena.
