Well the season is pretty clearly in the dumps at this point, but there are some encouraging signs looking forward. Michael Harris is now in the middle of his second really strong month at the plate. His walk rate is still essentially non-existent, which is a problem, but he is hitting the ball hard and in the air. Those mechanical changes Mike made to his swing may just have brought his bat back to life. That would be a massive development moving forward, as he is under contract for another four

years at least, plus another two club options and the Braves have a much smaller question mark at center field for next year. Jurickson Profar has also looked promising on offense lately, leaving the obvious holes on the roster at shortstop, second base, and pitching depth with an emphasis on second, as Nick Allen is at least an elite defender. That should be a manageable level of improvement for the front office, assuming their legs aren’t cut out from under them like it seems like they were last offseason by the powers that be in control of finances.
