Okada gets new entrance music, tees up a potentially awesome feud

WHAT'S THE STORY?

TBS

While we (and Konosuke Takeshita) were under the impression Kazuchika Okada’s alliance with Don Callis was a temporary one, it looks like it will continue past their victory over Kenny Omega at All In Texas last Saturday. Wearing two of the three title belts Okada can lay claim to after beating his old rival, Callis declared the Rainmaker to be “the greatest in-ting wrestler in the world” right before we heard the familiar coin drop.

That wasn’t followed by the “Rainmaker” theme we’re used to hearing accompany the former New Japan ace to the ring, though. Instead, Okada entered to “C.U.R.I.O.S.I.T.Y.” by Japanese band One Ok Rock.

You can check the song out in full here.

The new AEW Unified and International champ made quick work of Rafael Quintero in the match that followed, then he had a message for one of the men whose victory over Okada’s friends The Young Bucks cost them their EVP titles. Okada dropped what amounts to his AEW catchphrase on Swerve Strickland:

That brought out a confident-looking Swerve (and a dancing Prince Nana). Strickland got in the Rainmaker’s face and confirmed, “Yeah, I did do that” before asking Okada what he was gonna do about it. Callis kept his ally from taking the bait...

... but that should be a great feud. And it should be very interesting to see who goes over in the end.
