Unsurprisingly, WWE will not be diving into any of the “complicated” parts of Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea’s legacy when they honor the man after his death yesterday at 71. That’s clear from the obituary on WWE’s website, and from reports coming out about their future plans — starting with SmackDown tonight (July 25).
WWE sources told Fightful Select that the company is “looking to honor Hogan heavily”. So far, that’s involved “reached out to numerous legends” about filming tributes and/or flying to Cleveland
for tonight’s taping. TMZ specifies three names who will be on-hand at Rocket Arena: Jimmy Hart, Sgt. Slaughter and the “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase.
It’s that latter outlet that says tonight’s tribute will be “grandiose”. TMZ’s sources told them that “the ceremonious gestures will go far beyond the standard 10-bell salute for wrestling greats who have died in the past.”
Should be quite the show.
