Newcastle United remain committed to keeping all members of Eddie Howe’s starting XI in tow for next season.

While some fringe first-team players could be moved on to ease financial constraints and create squad flexibility, according to The Athletic’s Chris Waugh, the club has made it clear that their top players are not for sale.

“Alexander Isak continues to be linked with Europe’s top clubs, but Newcastle have been consistently bullish about their ability to keep hold of the 25-year-old,” Waugh wrote.

The club is also planning contract talks with Isak.

The same stance applies to Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon, and Tino Livramento, all considered key players within Newcastle’s roster.

“Hands-off warnings have also been issued for Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon. Newcastle are resolute in their determination to keep hold of the England international [Livramento],” Waugh wrote.

Despite speculation over Harvey Barnes’ future and his potential sale, Howe reportedly wants the winger to stay in Tyneside. Nick Pope, who may face competition from a new goalkeeper if/when James Trafford arrives in a transfer from Burnley, is also expected to remain at the club and fight for his place in the starting XI weekly.

However, other players could be sold depending on squad needs and financial considerations, with Sean Longstaff (most likely) on his way out to Leeds United for around £10+2 million, significantly helping Newcastle’s PSR situation.

If Leeds balks and Longstaff ultimately stays, others may need to be moved. Joe Willock, who has two years left on his contract, is not actively on the market, although Waugh reported that “Newcastle must consider sizeable offers” for the midfielder.

Veteran goalkeeper Martin Dubravka is likely to depart, especially if Trafford signs, while fellow goalie Odysseas Vlachodimos is expected to leave on loan due to PSR concerns.

Meanwhile, Kieran Trippier’s situation remains unresolved, and Matt Targett, Joe White, and Harrison Ashby are all available.
