Tom Nolan is heading back to his home country to compete in the UFC’s octagon.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that a lightweight bout between Nolan and Evan Elder is set for UFC Perth. The event takes place Sept. 27 at RAC Arena in the Western Australian capital.
Nolan rides an impressive three-fight win streak into the bout, including a decision win against Viacheslav Borshchev at UFC 312 in February. The Contender Series contract winner and standout
has bounced back from a knockout loss in his UFC debut to Nikolas Motta to kick off his current run, which also includes a first-round TKO win over Victor Martinez in his first promotional victory.
Elder also brings a three-fight win streak into the 155-pound bout. After losing his first two UFC contests, “The Phenom” picked up a submission victory over Darrius Flowers, along with a pair of decision wins against Gauge Young and Genaro Valdez.
UFC Perth is headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Carlos Ulberg and past two-time title challenger Dominick Reyes.
