The
Bieber trade is likely not the end of it for today. I’m not going to be sitting at the computer all day, so we’ll have a spot for anything that happens, and likely put up posts for any trade the Jays make later.
There were a bunch of moves yesterday:
- Eugenio Suárez to the Mariners, he has 36 home runs this season. the Diamondbacks get Tyler Locklear and minor-league pitchers Hunter Cranton and Juan Burgos
- Phillies get Jhoan Duran from the Twins for Eduardo Tait and Mick Abel.
- Mets get Tyler Rogers, the Giants get pitching starter Blade Tidwell, outfield prospect Drew Gilbert, and right-hander José Buttó.
- Mets get Ryan Helsley from the Cardinals for Jesús Báez, right-hander Nate Dohm, and right-hander Frank Elissalt.
- Reds get Ke’Bryan Hays (who hasn’t been hitting at all), lefty reliever Taylor Rogers, and shortstop prospect Sammy Stafura.
- Yankees get outfielder Austin Slater for pitching prospect Gage Ziehl
- Angels (they are buyers?) acquire Andrew Chafin and Luis Garcia from the Nationals in exchange for left-hander Jake Eder and first baseman Sam Brown.
- Marianers get Caleb Ferguson from the Pirates for Jeter Martinez a RHP.
- Tigers get Paul Sewald from the Guardians for ‘a player to be named’.
- Cubs get Andrew Kittredge from the Orioles for SS Wilfri De La Cruz an international free agent the Cubs paid $2.3 million.
- Red Sox get Stevan Matz (yeah him) for Blaze Jordan. I wish my parents had named me Blaze.
There are likely more that I’ve missed.
