With Bayern Munich needing time to focus on a deal for Liverpool FC winger Luis Diaz and VfB Stuttgart refusing to entertain lowball offers from the Bavarians, the German Rekordmeister unceremoniously walked away from any further negotiations with Die Schwaben over the weekend.

Now, Bayern Munich has informed transfer target Nick Woltemade of its decision, effectively leaving the youngster dangling in the wind — at least for the time being per Abendezeitung journalist Maximilian Koch (via @iMiaSanMia):

Bayern have informed Nick Woltemade that they’ve withdrawn from the negotiations with Stuttgart for the time being and will not submit a third bid. As things stand, Woltemade will return to Stuttgart on July 28 and take part in their training camp in Tegernsee. The player only wants Bayern and is still hoping the clubs would reach an agreement. Whether negotiations will resume or not now depends on Stuttgart.

While not a great look in a situation where most of the drama was created by unnecessarily low proposals, Bayern Munich is attempting to assert control of the situation. The problem is that VfB Stuttgart does not seem to care and is content to just keep Woltemade for as long as it can.

As for the player, this seems like a move where Bayern Munich is hoping Woltemade and his agent will start to pressure VfB Stuttgart to leave, which could help grease the pathway to an exit in a few weeks when Bayern Munich decides to check back in on the situation.

Nothing is ever easy...

With a move for Hugo Ekitiké getting close, the reality is that Bayern Munich is likely going to get Luis Diaz…whether fans like it or not. Bayern Munich has reportedly also exited talks with VfB Stuttgart to focus on a deal for Diaz. It might also just be time for Bayern Munich to rip off the band-aid and sell Kim Min-jae, João Palhinha, and Sacha Boey. Finally, we have a note Bayer Leverkusen’s CEO and his recent slam on Bayern.
