Gerard Martin has made it clear he has no intention of leaving Barcelona this summer after rumors of interest from Premier League side Wolves.
The left-back enjoyed plenty of game time last season and became Alejandro Balde’s back-up in Hansi Flick’s squad.
He’s been asked about his future and insists he is not thinking about a move away and hasn’t heard from any potential admirers.
“I don’t know if those things are true. If they were, they would have told me,” he told Mundo Deportivo.
“I’m very happy
ADhere, at Barça, and I don’t want to leave. If the coach and the management have faith in me, I can’t ask for more.”
Martin is recovering from surgery after sustaining a hand injury on Spain Under-21 duty but says he’s almost ready to go.
“I’m fine now,” he added.
“I was in a cast for three weeks, and at first I was a little worse, but I’m better now, ready to train on Monday and do whatever else I need to do.”
Barcelona have been linked with several full-backs this summer, but it seems at present that a left winger remains the club’s top target before the window closes.
