Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich is excited to have former Liverpool FC winger Luis Díaz aboard for the 2025/26 campaign and wants to make sure the newcomer feels at home.
“We have a few guys who can speak a bit of Spanish. His English is also okay. So we’re managing that as a team,” Kimmich said after Bayern Munich dispatch Olympique Lyon 2-1 (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Luis Díaz is someone who loves football and always has a smile on his face.”
Harry Kane said the rumored lack of English skills
for Diaz was a bit overblown.
“His English is not too bad. He communicates well with the team. Hopefully his English and maybe his German as well picks up so some of the other players can talk to him as well. But with the coach talking English I don’t think he has a problem,” said Kane (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
As for the game, Kimmich assessed the squad in a balanced manner.
“We had chances, especially in the second half. We could have scored another goal or two. You could tell we weren’t starting from scratch, but that there was a certain balance,” said Kimmich (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Kane came out of the match feeling optimistic.
“The team is hungry and ready. Our squad is strong, we saw that today – and we’ll see that again at the start of the season. I’m ready, and we have a few games before the opening game to get into shape.”
said Kane (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
