Happy Sunday Husky fans. After a massive win for the Huskies yesterday (landing T.I. Umu-Cais) the 2026 Husky class now sits with 21 commits and is rated as the 17th best class in the country. So far the Huskies have hit on almost all of their needs but there are a few positions that we should see the Huskies pursue some players to bring them into the fold.
At edge the Huskies tried to land a true edge rusher who can disrupt the passer (they brought in 5 star edge Tristian Givens- who committed to Texas
A&M, 4 star edge Samu Moala who is also committed to Texas A&M, 4 star edge Landon Barnes who committed to Ole Miss, and 3 star Fameitau Siale who committed to Michigan State). The Huskies do have 4 star defensive lineman Derek Colman-Brusa committed and he will initially slot at edge, but he projects to be more in the run stopping mold. The Huskies will likely keep pursuing some of the targets they brought onto campus as well as looking at other options to bring in someone to create some havoc from the edge position.
On the offensive line the Huskies appear like they may want to add another offensive lineman to their 2026. The Huskies already have 3 offensive lineman in the class (Kodi Greene, Dominic Harris, and Ah Deong Yang), but they also would like to bring in another interior offensive lineman. The Huskies brought in 4 star offensive lineman Sam Utu and 3 star offensive lineman Pulelei’ite Primus for official visits (both have committed elsewhere). I would expect the Huskies to continue to push for a flip for Utu, though that may be tough to pry him away from Alabama. Greene and Harris both project as offensive tackles in college and Deong Yang projects as inside player in college (after this season the Huskies will lose Carver Willis, Geirean Hatchett, Maximus McCree- if he doesn’t get an extra year due to his transfer from the JC ranks).
Overall the 2026 class is well balanced and there are a lot of players that Husky fans should be excited about. The class should remain a top 20 class heading into the early signing period and if they can flip or add some more highly rated prospects it could crack the top 15.
That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
