We’ve got a new scholarship offer out for the Kentucky Wildcats, and it’s to a borderline 5-star prospect.
On Monday, 4-star wing Cole Cloer announced a scholarship offer from Kentucky. The rising senior is ranked 22nd overall in the 2026 class by ESPN, while Rivals has him 24th.
The 6-foot-7, 185-pound product of IMG Academy in Florida holds additional offers from the North Carolina Tar Heels, Alabama Crimson Tide, UConn Huskies, Indiana Hoosiers, Florida Gators, Louisville Cardinals, Oregon Ducks,
and Tennessee Volunteers.
Kentucky is getting into this recruitment a tad bit late. Cloer recently announced his top eight while discussing his recruitment with Zags Blog, and there was no mention of the Wildcats.
Rivals’ Jamie Shaw recently wrote about Cloer’s performance at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam, where he suited up for Team CP3.
“4-Star SF Cole Cloer came into Peach Jam with the reputation of a shooter. And he went through spurts where he made shots,” wrote Shaw. “The 6-foot-6 wing however did struggle at times to make plays of movement. Catch and shoot, feet set, he played with great balance with a consistent release. He did not get by his man off the bounce and his feet and balance did not get situation shooting off movement. Cloer will need to continue working on the defensive end, and streamlining his offensive game. But he has something there with consolidation. Cloer averaged 15.3 points on 38.5 percent shooting and 31.3 percent from three on the week.”
One to watch for.
