As expected, today’s training camp practice was the longest one the Chicago Bears have had, and by the sounds of it, the offense responded.
Which, I suppose, means the defense had an off day?
I guess it’s all in how you want to look at it, but the Bears are 90 players striving towards one goal. When one phase wins, they all win, so keep that in mind during the ups and downs of training camp.
Braxton Jones, who is in a battle to keep the left tackle job, met the media after practice and said he’s “feeling
pretty good” when asked about his fractured ankle from a season ago. “This injury’s definitely been very tough on me. I’ve learned a lot about myself. To be out there, I’m very grateful.”
He also said he’s currently at 300 pounds after dropping some weight during rehab, and would like to play in the 305-310 range.
A few post-practice injury nuggets: reserve offensive lineman Ricky Stromberg is in concussion protocol, starting right guard Jonah Jackson is still day to day with a leg injury, and long snapper Scott Daly was carted off the field.
Now on to those Tweets from those in attendance today...

Luther Burden is having himself a great practice. Caught a really well placed ball down the sideline from Caleb Williams with Tyrique Stevenson in coverage and just caught a deep ball from Tyson Bagent.

This time to Rome Odunze deep down the sidelines. Another zip pass to Myles Boykin.
Fun to watch.

- In a 3rd down period, Caleb had a dart deep over middle to Miles Boykin.
- Olamide Zaccheaus keeps looking smooth running routes
Cole Kmet has been in with the 1st team in 11 on 11s mostly today.

Finally, in last period for starters, the offense faced 3rd-and-14.
— Brad Biggs (@BradBiggs) July 31, 2025
Offense managed to get WR DJ Moore matched up on LB TJ Edwards in coverage. That's a clear advantage for offense.
The hope is Ben Johnson can cook up scenarios like that in season, especially on money downs.
