The grind does not stop for Mark Pope as his staff works to bring in key pieces for the 2026 roster.
Pope has landed numerous big recruits but is working hard to bring in the No. 12 overall recruit in the class of 2026: 5-star small forward Anthony Thompson.
Thompson is currently working to narrow down schools, and his list is currently down to 15.
Kentucky, North Carolina, BYU, Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State, Purdue, Notre Dame, Auburn, Indiana, Georgetown, Louisville, Kansas, Texas, and Xavier
are the 15 schools that Thompson is set to go forward with.
It is quite a large list still, but it is great to see Kentucky still making the cuts.
“We talk constantly, I’ll say probably every week,” Thompson said when asked about his relationship with Kentucky, according to KSR’s Zack Geoghegan.
Visits are right around the corner for the 5-star small forward, and Kentucky is on his mind:
“We just talked about hopefully getting me on (campus) for a visit, but continue to talk to me about how I fit into the program,” he told KSR.
Thompson does not have any visits set yet, but it will be exciting to see him in Lexington soon when he officially visits the best program in the country.
