After months of being linked to clubs like RB Leipzig, Werder Bremen, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Borussia Mönchengladbach, Kicker journalists Frank Linkesch and Mario Krischel (via @iMiaSanMia) are reporting that Paul Wanner is staying put and will get his chance to prove himself during the preseason:
Following Jamal Musiala’s injury, Bayern are currently not considering a new loan move for Paul Wanner. The 19-year old will get his chance in preseason.
This news is very interesting, but — if true — does
not guarantee Wanner anything except an opportunity to show that he is still a top-level prospect ready to breakthrough in Bavaria.
This is truly make or break time for Wanner given this unique chance with Jamal Musiala being out for the next four-to-six months (at a minimum). Can Wanner rise to the challenge?
Looking for more thoughts and discussion on Bayern Munich’s recent rejections with bids on VfB Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade and Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, plus some talk about the heat that Max Eberl and the fellas are facing — plus a discussion on why Nestory Irankunda might not have worked out and also why Bayern needs to be on high alert with Paul Wanner?
