Bayern, Woltemade getting closer? (Nicolò Schira)

Transfer journalist Nicolò Schira is reporting that Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart could be getting close to a deal worth €50 million:

Nick #Woltemade is getting closer to #BayernMunich from #Stuttgart for €50M. Agreed personal terms for a contract until 2030. #transfers

Schira is not as tied into the Woltemade saga as some other journalists, so the proverbial grain of salt is needed with this one. However, there does seem to be at least some thought that VfB Stuttgart could be ready to waver on its

hardline stance regarding Woltemade.

With the deal for Luis Diaz expected to close within hours, Bayern Munich should be able to approach the Woltemade pursuit with more urgency. All that remains to be seen is if VfB Stuttgart is willing to part ways with a player it clearly values.

LFC “prioritizing” move for Real’s Rodrygo (ESPN)

With rumors swirling that Liverpool FC could make a move for Newcastle United star and former Borussia Dortmund striker Alexander Isak, there are other stories out there that say Liverpool could spring for Real Madrid’s Rodrygo:

Liverpool are prioritizing a move for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, according to TEAMtalk. The Reds reportedly see the 24-year-old as their No. 1 option to replace Luis Díaz as the Colombia international nears a €75 million move to Bayern Munich. But with belief that Los Blancos could demand a significant transfer fee worth close to €90m, the Anfield hierarchy are also lining up some alternatives. One of those is 20-year-old RB Leipzig and Norway international Antonio Nusa, while Lyon’s Malick Fofana, also 20, is another player on their radar.

Bayern Munich will have Luis Diaz in tow for this season, but that move is not the only one in motion. After allegedly getting that deal done, Bayern Munich can now expedite its plans for the rest of the transfer window, so let’s talk about it. This is what have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works Show:

  • In a turn of events, Thomas Müller is reportedly going to spurn LAFC in favor of the Vancouver Whitecaps.
  • Jamal Musiala is embracing the grind of his comeback, but it is too much, too soon?

Müller could cost Vancouver $400K (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)

If Bayern Munich legend Thomas Müller does choose to join the Vancouver Whitecaps, it will likely cost the Canadian club $400,000 to snatch Müller’s discovery rights away from FC Cincinnati:

There have been talks that Muller will join Bayern’s partner club, Los Angeles FC, but he has rejected the move. Christian Falk informed CFBayern that Muller wants to go to Canada to join MLS outfit Vancouver Whitecaps.

The Whitecaps are currently in talks with FC Cincinnati over the Discovery Rights of Muller. Cincinnati are likely to demand much more than $400,000 (around €340,000) from them.

In the MLS, sorting out the discovery rights is not a big issue. If Muller wants to join the Whitecaps, the MLS will try to make it work. That is what happened here. Falk says that the MLS has intervened as a mediator to ensure that Muller’s transfer does not fail due to transfer demands from a club in its own league association. The MLS are negotiating at the moment with Cincinnati, while Vancouver are waiting for a Green light, so that Muller can sign a new contract with them until 2026.

Juve prepping bigger offer for Kolo Muani (ESPN)

Juventus might need to show Paris Saint-Germain a little more coin to get Randal Kolo Muani:

Juventus are preparing an improved offer for Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani amid belief that Manchester United could make an approach for him, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. There are reported to be “daily discussions” ongoing with PSG over a move for the 26-year-old, but the Bianconeri are now expected to advance the deal to avoid it being hijacked by the Red Devils. Kolo Muani scored eight goals in 16 Serie A matches last season, before scoring twice at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show Season 4, Episode 53 (Bavarian Football Works)

Bayern Munich’s summer action is heating up after a lull and a move or two could be on the horizon. Let’s catch up on all of it on this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show:

  • €75 million might be Bayern’s magic number for Liverpool’s Luis Diaz — and we think we finally know why we have been feeling so iffy about the situation.
  • Bayern made its last bid on Nick Woltemade, which could still fall short of the mark. If that fails...who’s next? Maybe one of three Red Bull-related players.
  • Are we headed into an era of stability at Bayern Munich? Despite rumors of disconnect, there could be a pathway forward to structure.

Spurs seeking to clear room for Palhinha (To the Lane and Back)

Tottenham Hotspur could sell Yves Bissouma to make room for Bayern Munich defensive midfielder João Palhinha:

Tottenham Hotspur’s midfield could be in for another shake-up as the club is ramping up interest in Bayern Munich’s Joao Palhinha, with Yves Bissouma possibly the one to make way.

Spurs’ interest in Palhinha isn’t new, but what’s changed now is that Bayern appear open to a sale, reportedly valuing the Portugal international at around £21 million. It’s an appealing price for a player of Palhinha’s defensive pedigree, especially after the failed pursuit of Morgan Gibbs-White, who penned a fresh deal with Nottingham Forest.

According to journalist Alasdair Gold via football.london, Tottenham may be preparing to offload Bissouma if the Palhinha deal moves forward. The Malian midfielder is entering the final year of his contract, and clubs like Juventus are monitoring the situation as they search for a replacement for Douglas Luiz.

It’s not the first time Bissouma’s future at Spurs has looked uncertain, and with Thomas Frank now in charge, decisions need to be swift and decisive.

LAFC hoping for Sonny days (GiveMeSport’s Ben Jacobs)

Even if LAFC still has hopes of Thomas Müller, it still might get Tottenham Hotspur attacker Son Heung-min:

Exclusive: LAFC advancing to sign Spurs captain Son Heung-min.

- Son to decide future after #NUFC friendly in South Korea

- LAFC believe Son prefers MLS to Saudi

- Spurs won’t stand in Son’s way if he decides to leave
