Everton could hijack Bayern’s Woltemade move (The Hard Tackle)
As Bayern Munich takes a seat away from the negotiating table for a bit, Everton is more than willing to hop in and start discussions with VfB Stuttgart for Nick Woltemade:
Everton will likely have an opportunity to steal a march on Bayern Munich in the battle to sign 23-year-old German striker Nick Woltemade from VfB Stuttgart this summer.
According to an update by French journalist Sebastien Vidal, Nick Woltemade is the subject of interest from Everton. The Toffees are keen on reinforcing their offensive
ADunit by signing a striker in the summer transfer window. So, the 23-year-old VfB Stuttgart centre-back has been on the Merseyside club’s radar for several weeks.
The Bremen native has also been a target for Bayern Munich, and recent reports suggested a move to the Allianz Arena was on the cards. However, the Bundesliga champions have “temporarily pulled out” of the battle, and Woltemade is back on the market. That has given the opportunity to hijack Bayern Munich’s move for the young striker.
It seems doubtful that Everton would be as appealing to Woltemade as Bayern Munich, but it is tough to tell how strained the relationship between the attacker and VfB Stuttgart has become of late. It could be just fine or there could be a lot of bitterness.
While the situation might seem bad at the moment, Woltemade and Bayern Munich still appear to want to get a transfer completed this summer.
Reitz says he wants to stay at Gladbach (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)
One of the Germany U-21 players who really did well for himself at the EUROs was Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Rocco Reitz.
Despite some outside interest, Reitz says he wants to stay at Gladbach:
Rocco #Reitz is planning to stay with Borussia Mönchengladbach:
“I have no other information. I’m here to help Borussia succeed this season. My wife and I feel very comfortable – we even moved within Mönchengladbach recently. This year, I want to take another big step in terms of responsibility.
Rumours are normal. You play one good game and there are articles. I don’t read all of it. I told my agent I don’t want to hear anything right now.”

Bayern Munich’s summer transfer window could be heating up very soon.
The dominoes are falling all around Bayern Munich and with each move, it should open up things for another. After a relatively quiet and composed approach to squad planning for the summer, it is time to start wheeling-and-dealing.
Let’s get into all of that on this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works Show:
- With a move for Hugo Ekitiké getting close, the reality is that Bayern Munich is likely going to get Luis Diaz…whether fans like it or not. Let’s discuss…
- Bayern Munich has reportedly exited talks with VfB Stuttgart to focus on a deal for Diaz. What should fans think? Will Bayern return to the negotiating table? Is this all spiraling out of control?
- It might just be time for Bayern Munich to rip off the band-aid. If there are options to sell Kim Min-jae, João Palhinha, and Sacha Boey, Bayern Munich should just unload them. It is time to stop thinking patience is a virtue with every player who underperforms.
- A final note on Florian Wirtz as Bayer Leverkusen’s CEO gloats over Bayern’s failure to land the star player.
Bayern still “keen” on Simons (Fabrizio Romano)
Bayern Munich is still reportedly “keen” on RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, but he is likely headed to England, with Chelsea FC as the leading party to get him:
Xavi Simons deal, expected to develop soon as player decision since May is clear; he wants to leave.
Two years left on his deal at Leipzig and price tag can be under €70m now.
Chelsea and Arsenal aware, interested as revealed last week while FC Bayern remain also keen.
Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg added more information:
Chelsea have a serious interest in #Xavi Simons. Understand talks between the club and the player’s camp already having started. No club-to-club talks yet. First, it needs to be checked whether an agreement can be reached between #CFC and the player.
Chelsea are currently the most concrete option. Arsenal are monitoring the situation, Bayern are not concretely in the race so far, but Max Eberl is informed about everything. Xavi wants to leave Leipzig.
United could steal Gyökeres (Fabrizio Romano)
Manchester United could swipe in and take Viktor Gyökeres away from Arsenal as it seems some complications have stunted progress on a deal in London:
Manchester United have been offered again the chance by intermediaries close to Sporting to bid for Viktor Gyökeres; same as last week.
Clear answer once again from Viktor: he wants to join Arsenal, his only desire… he keeps fighting for that ❤️
ESPN added more context on the situation:
It seemed certain that Viktor Gyökeres would be joining Arsenal from Sporting CP, but Manchester United are attempting to take advantage of a snag over the finer details of the deal by outbidding their Premier League rivals, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola. Arsenal have made an offer of €63.5 million, plus €10 million in bonuses, but Sporting are not happy with the structure of the add-ons — Sporting want those objectives to be realistic and easily achieved.
There are payments of €2.5 million based around 20 games, which Sporting are happy with, but not other clauses. Man United boss Ruben Amorim, who used to coach Gyökeres at Sporting, still feels there’s a chance to win the race. A Bola says that Sporting want an achievable €80 million, which Man United have now go close to. However, the outlet says Gyökeres has made it clear to his club he still only wants to join Arsenal.

Sullivan heads to City (Fabrizio Romano)
Manchester City is bringing over Cavan Sullivan to put in some work. Sullivan, of course, is the wunderkid whom City signed out of the Philadelphia Union academy:

Kolo Muani getting interest from United, Newcastle (ESPN)
Randal Kolo Muani could be on the move once again. Now, Manchester United and Newcastle United are interested:
Randal Kolo Muani is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain before the transfer window closes, and Foot Mercato reports that Manchester United and Newcastle United are weighing up an offer. Newcastle are looking at alternatives after Liverpool won the race for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike (who also rejected a move to Man United), and the 26-year-old Kolo Muani has emerged as a leading contender.
Man United, meanwhile, are still looking at ways to refresh their forward line after signing Matheus Cunha and agreeing a deal for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo. Kolo Muani impressed on loan at Juventus in the second half of last season, netting eight times in 19 games, but PSG want a permanent transfer which the Serie A club cannot finance.
