At this point, Juventus have done Timothy Weah no favors when it comes to resolving his uncertain future in Turin. There was a proposed move to the Premier League that was rejected, then came a move back to France that has been on hold for more than just a few days as Juve and Marseille reportedly haggle over the final price.
That, understandably, can become a rather frustrating situation.
And while Weah himself has publicly gone about his business and reported for preseason training that got underway
late last week, the USMNT winger’s agent has not held back in an interview with TuttoJuve when asked about how his client has been treated over these last few weeks as Juventus try and find a new club for the only new player they signed two summers ago.
Here are the words of Badou Sambague, who let things fly in expressing his frustration:
“Juventus are a fantastic club, the sporting department is managed by three people who have class. We won’t hold against them, but two are looking for solutions and one is creating problems, and we cannot let that go.”
“Tim Weah is always professional, but was sidelined during the Club World Cup. This person botched the World Cup by trying to force him to go where he wanted. Today, out of spite, he is demanding a fortune and is waiting for a Premier League offer that will never come, and we’ll never approve.”
“These old-fashioned methods won’t work with me. I’m not accustomed to speaking out, but staying silent today would mean accepting the unacceptable and a total lack of respect,” he concluded.
“Class can’t be bought, at least not for an executive, but it’s always been part of Juventus. One person is undermining, so let’s see.”

So who is that one person who is “creating problems”? The easy guess is Damien Comolli, who has essentially been serving as Juve’s sporting director ever since joining the club as general manager last month. Since Juventus don’t currently have a sporting director, Comolli, Giorgio Chiellini and new technical director François Modesto are the most visible front office members in which the Bianconeri currently have.
The fact that Juve tried to rush through a move to Nottingham Forest before the end of June wasn’t exactly the greatest look — both because of how Weah and Mbangula were suddenly held out of a Club World Cup fixture and the price attached to the double move wasn’t all that great. Then came the potential for a move to Marseille and a return to Ligue 1 for Weah, but that now seems to be in doubt as it stretches on and nothing has happened despite the fact that the 25-year-old American has reportedly agreed to personal terms.
But Weah’s agent has made things perfectly clear — especially when it comes to a potential move to the Premier League and the fact that he’s not happy at all with how Juventus are handling everything right now.
