Marc-Andre ter Stegen was back in the gym again on Tuesday as Hansi Flick’s side continued their pre-season preparations.

The goalkeeper was a notable absentee from the first session back after the holidays yesterday and was in the gym once again on Day 2.

Barcelona haven’t offered any clues as to why. A statement on the club’s website said only:

“Hansi Flick worked with the same mix of first-team and B-team players as on Monday, all focused

on sharpening their fitness after the summer break and looking ahead to the Asian tour and the Liga opener, scheduled for 16 August away to Mallorca at Son Moix

“There were two absentees. Marc-André ter Stegen trained alone in the gym at the Ciutat Esportiva and reserve players Dani Rodríguez continues his planned rehab from the right-shoulder injury suffered on his first-team debut at Valladolid on 3 May.”

Meanwhile, talk of interest from Galatasaray has returned following the squad’s return to training this week.

Turkish media continues to claim interest in the Barcelona stopper, although it still seems that at the moment he is focused on staying and fighting for his place.
