After 13 seasons with Real Madrid, Luka Modrić has touched down in Milan to finalize his move to AC Milan, marking the end of one of the most legendary Real Madrid careers ever. The 39-year-old arrived at Milan Malpensa airport on Monday morning, greeted by reporters and cameras.
“I’m very happy to be here,” Modrić told the gathered media. “There are big challenges ahead of me. I’ll have time to talk about all this,” he added, speaking briefly before heading into the city for his medical.

Modrić joins Milan on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Real Madrid.
He is expected to sign a one-year deal with Milan, with an option to extend until the summer of 2027—potentially keeping him at the club until age 41.
“It’s hard to say, but they are mixed emotions,” Modric said after his final game with Real Madrid on Wednesday. “An unforgettable, glorious, and victorious era has ended. What I’ve experienced gives me even more joy. Remembering everything I’ve achieved here makes me very happy, even if it’s over.”
“At Real Madrid, I’ve grown as a player and as a person. Real Madrid has given me everything in football, and for that I’ll be grateful for life. I’ll always be a Real Madrid fan.”
