Bayern Munich’s front office is currently in the thick of navigating their way through the summer transfer window, and it is proving to be rather problematic, As things stand, they’ve lost out to Liverpool in getting long-time target Florian Wirtz, VfB Stuttgart is playing hardball in Bayern’s pursuit of Nick Woltemade, and there are a handful of wingers the German Rekordmeister have been linked with. Nkunku, and even Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard have been linked with Bayern in recent winks.

On the front of Nkunku, this is not the first time the French international has been linked with Bayern, but he could prove to be one of the more affordable options for Bayern in their frantic search for a winger. Per information from French outlet L’Equipe (via @iMiaSanMia), the Chelsea winger is expected to cost €35-40m this summer, which is significantly less than most of the other wingers Bayern has been linked with thus far — most of them are valuated at around €70m.

Despite Nkunku’s affordability against some of Bayern’s other transfer targets, there have not yet been any concrete talks between Bayern and the player or his representatives, and there are also a handful of other clubs interested in him. Manchester United are one of said clubs that have expressed interest, and they have also made inquiries about Bayern’s João Palhinha.

While Nkunku is not at the top of Bayern’s priority list, a lot of factors lend themselves to it potentially being good business for the reigning Bundesliga champions. He would only cost up to €40m this summer and might be looking for a change since Chelsea have already signed Joao Pedro from Brighton and Hove Albion, Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, and Mamadou Sarr from Strasbourg, bolstering Enzo Maresca’s attacking line. Nkunku could wind up seeing reduced minutes as a result, which would not be the case at Bayern.
