Lucha Libre AAA’s biggest show of the year to stream on YouTube

WHAT'S THE STORY?

WWE

Lucha Libre AAA is returning to YouTube with its biggest show of the year, Triplemanía XXXIII.

WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque broke the news on Saturday while highlighting AAA’s recent TV taping on Friday night in Mexico City.

“Lucha Libre AAA is on fire,” Levesque wrote on X. “Last night in Mexico City… Wall-to-wall action from every match, a sing-along with El Grande Americano, and proof that no matter where he is … Dominik Mysterio is a STAR. #TripleMania streams on YouTube Aug. 16 from Mexico City. Are you ready?”

In April, WWE announced it would acquire AAA in partnership with Mexico-based sports and entertainment holding company Fillip, with WWE holding a controlling stake. The move marked a major expansion by WWE as Levesque promised to honor and further the tradition of lucha libre.

The initial announcement came just hours before WrestleMania Saturday. That day, Levesque also announced the return of Worlds Collide, a cross-branded event held this past June in Los Angeles. The show, which streamed on YouTube, received rave reviews and currently has more than 3.4 million views.

On Friday night, Dominik Mysterio, Dragon Lee and El Grande Americano made headlines during appearances for AAA. After Lee and Americano faced AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo, Mysterio ambushed both Lee and Vikingo.

AAA later announced that El Hijo del Vikingo will defend his title in a four-way match against Lee, Americano and Mysterio at Triplemanía XXXIII on Aug. 16 in Mexico City.

As WWE continues to break new ground in the world of lucha libre, its next offering with AAA is sure to be an event that will have the wrestling world buzzing again.

Are you ready, Cagesiders?
