Pundit details inside info on Diaz, Bayern, LFC (Football Insider)
Football Insider senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke gave his “inside info” on what is going on between Bayern Munich, Liverpool FC, and Luis Diaz:
Luis Diaz has been “flirting” with the idea of leaving Liverpool this summer amid growing interest from both Bayern Munich and Barcelona. Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have told him about the 28-year-old’s future at Anfield after he refused to commit his long-term
ADfuture to Liverpool.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 10 July that Liverpool are braced for offers for Diaz after Bayern missed out on other key targets.
After Nico Williams committed his future to Athletic Bilbao and Florian Wirtz joined Liverpool, Vincent Kompany’s side are determined to land a marquee signing.
O’Rourke explained that Diaz has left the door open to a move to the Bundesliga giants, with talk surrounding his exit set to drag out late into the window.
“This has got the potential to be the transfer saga of the summer,” he told Football Insider. “Diaz is still flirting with these interested clubs and has refused to commit his long-term future to Liverpool. He’s happy at Liverpool and Liverpool are happy with him, but he has also admitted that he is in negotiations with other clubs as well.
“Bayern Munich made an offer to Liverpool which was rebuffed earlier this month with Liverpool saying they have no intentions of letting Diaz go. Bayern are still very much interested in signing the Colombian. They need to make a marquee signing after they missed out on Nico Williams and Florian Wirtz, and the injury to Jamal Musiala has increased their need to sign an attacker. The talk is that personal terms won’t be a problem, it’s just about agreeing a fee with Liverpool.”
It is extremely hard to get a read on this. In some respect, it seems like Diaz is trying to milk more money from Liverpool, but there is at least some reason to believe that the winger could really be seeking a change of scenery.
Hopefully, we will find out one way or the other in the coming days.

Barca still unsure on Rashford (Fabrizio Romano)
FC Barcelona still might not be convinced by Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford:
Barça are yet to decide whether they want to proceed with Rashford deal or not.
It’s not about loan or permanent. No club to club talks yet as it’s all about Barça internal decision on winger they want.
Rashford still dreams of joining FCB
However, ESPN thinks Rashford’s potential move to Barca is “increasingly likely”:
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is increasingly likely to become a Barcelona player due to the costly and complex nature of any possible move for Liverpool’s Luis Díaz, according to Diario Sport. The Blaugrana have taken significant steps in negotiations with the 27-year-old England international, but they are in no rush to close the deal while keeping negotiations open and moving at a good pace. Barça’s preferred course of action would be to initially sign Rashford on loan, with an option to make the deal permanent. United would want a fee of €48m for Rashford this summer, but if Barça can loan him until the end of next season then he would only have two years left on his contract and would likely be available for less.
Two Serie A clubs join Al Hilal in hunt for Šeško (ESPN)
After what appears to be a failed transfer to Arsenal, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško could be getting interest from two Serie A clubs, who would be joining Al Hilal in the pursuit:
Al Hilal and two unnamed Serie A clubs have enquired about signing RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško after Arsenal distanced themselves from signing him, according to TEAMtalk. The Saudi Pro League side holds a serious interest in the 22-year-old and recently made contact to ask about the conditions of a possible deal, although no official offer has been made yet and Al Hilal are evaluating their options. Leipzig’s demand of over €90m is making any transfer difficult for interested clubs, with TBR reporting that Man United and Liverpool could step in. Elsewhere, Fabrizio Romano reports that Al Hilal have enquired about Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins but haven’t made a formal offer yet.
