ProBox announced yesterday that super featherweight contenders Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov and William Foster III will headline an August 15th card at their Events Center in Plant City, Florida.
That’s a Friday, for the record.
Tajikistan’s Yaqubov (22-1, 12 KO) lost wide to O’Shaquie Foster in a 2022 WBC eliminator, but has since won four straight over marginal competition. Foster (19-2, 11 KO), who narrowly fell to Henry Lebron in a 2023 clash of unbeatens before suffering a rout two fights later at the
hands of unheralded Eridson Garcia, enters on a two-fight winning streak.
One of those saw him hand Jayson Velez his ninth consecutive defeat. Eugh.
The show also sees ShoBox veterans Starling Castillo (19-1-1, 13 KO) and Shinard Bunch (21-2-1, 17 KO) square off at super lightweight. This ends a nearly seventeen-month layoff for Castillo and a two-year layoff for Bunch.
Couple of solid B-level scraps here, perfect for a Friday night appetizer ahead of the following day’s Riyadh Season show.
