Long Island Iced Z hands NXT’s Darkstate their first loss at Slammiversary

WHAT'S THE STORY?

The Darkstate’s motives were unclear when crashing TNA to attack Matt Cardona. It was also unclear why the System decided to help Cardona. No matter. The end result was Cardona serving the NXT crew their first loss.

The match went down at Slammiversary (July 20, 2025). It started ugly as a brawl, then Johnny Dango Curtis paid tribute to Sabu for a dive off a chair.

tag for the hometown man. Not that one. Long Island Iced Z strut his stuff. It was poetic for Myers to be the man setting up the moment for Cardona to dish out payback.

It was only a matter of time until the numbers got Broski. Darkstate executed a triple powerbomb on Cardona. Eddie Edwards made the save to break the pin. The System and Cardona went to work for a double powerbomb of their own on Saquon Shugars. Brian Myers added a flying elbow drop, and Dango connected on a flying leg drop. Bing, bang, boom. Darkstate rushed the pile for the save on the pin.

Fisticuffs erupted. When the smoke cleared, Cardona and the System stood tall. Shugars was blitzed by a Blue Thunder Bomb from Edwards, Radio Silence from Cardona, and the Boston Knee Party from Edwards for the win.

Cardona and the System fed Darkstate their first loss. Woo woo woo, you know it.
