The Braves have made official the roster move that we assumed they would make before the Braves’ Friday night game in Arlington versus the Texas Rangers.
The #Braves today reinstated INF Austin Riley from the injured list and optioned INF Nacho Alvarez Jr. to Triple-A Gwinnett.

The Braves have brought back Austin Riley from the Injured List after his lower abdominal injury. Austin Riley has had a.274/.324/.441 line this season with a 112 wRC+ and 2.0 WAR. He was starting to heat up with a 153 wRC+ mark
in July before his injury. But you knew all that.
Returning to Gwinnett is the Braves #5 prospect per the Battery Power 2025 Preseason Braves prospect list. Nacho is a guy that has always hit in the minor leagues. In Riley’s absence, he posted a .200/.250/.233 line with a .253 xwOBA in 8 games. He had one close call warning track shot, but the power just isn’t there right now. The bat speed is sub-70 and the walks are low as well. The power is the only thing keeping him in the minors, but that’s a big thing unfortunately.
