As Mizzou Football enters Year 6 of the Eli Drinkwitz era, the Tigers have a “manageable” SEC schedule to work with as they avoid Texas, Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee, LSU and Florida on their 2025 slate.
Having said that, there are still some compelling and challenging games to look forward to – and the non-conference is highlighted by the return of the Border War rivalry on September 6th against kansas.

While it is a non-conference game and it is only Week 2 of the season — a win over the Jayhawks in a highly anticipated rivalry game can jumpstart the momentum in what is an upcoming year of some uncertainty. A loss will leave the fanbase frustrated with not a lot of optimism for the rest of the season.
Eli Drinkwitz has done well in rivalry games. He’s had Arkansas’ number in the “Battle Line Rivalry”, he’s taken care of South Carolina in the “Mayor’s Cup” for the most part despite the loss last year. The Border War will be another level.
Mizzou enters 2025 looking to accomplish three straight 10-win season for the first time in program history. For that to happen, a win over the Jayhawks feels like a must.
Missouri’s season may start on Thursday, August 28th against Central Arkansas — but their first big test awaits on September 6th.
