The Yankees did not benefit much from the immediate boost of adding Ryan McMahon, in no small part due to Aaron Judge hitting the IL the same day he arrived in the Bronx. They dropped their third game in a row, and secured another series loss as the Phillies beat them 9-4. Now they’ve made their second deal of the deadline season in adding Amed Rosario to the mix, but they still haven’t added much in terms of shifting the balance in the American League — and they’re running out of time to fix things.
They’ve got a Sunday matinee in front of them if they want to start turning things around, but before that let’s run through what we’ve got in the interim. Scott starts us off with a look at the record-setting performances that Scranton has been up to this week, and then I’ll be back to give you the Rivalry Roundup. Matt has a trade target on Minnesota’s Griffin Jax, Kevin covers the latest 2000 Diary entry, and then after the game John has the social media spotlight.
