Earlier
today, Tennessee Titans President of Operations Chad Brinker and General Manager Mike Borgonzi talked to the media. It was a pretty typical opening of training camp presser with a few nuggets that we did not know and a lot of things that we did know. Here were the highlights:
- They knew shoulder surgery was an option for Will Levis after both their staff and the second opinion staff recommended rest and rehab at the end of the season. They didn’t seem like they were surprised by the decision, but my guess is they aren’t happy about it.
- Borgonzi said they don’t feel a need to add anyone to the quarterback room right now. It sounds like Brandon Allen will be the backup.
- Lorenzo Carter has decided to retire. He informed Borgonzi of that decision yesterday. They desperately need help at EDGE.
- L’Jarius Sneed had a knee cleanup in May. That is why he is starting training camp on PUP. The quad is completely healed. That’s #notgreat.
- Rookie safety Kevin Winston, Jr., who is coming back from an ACL tear, will be a full go to start training camp.
- Treylon Burks is also a full go and is reportedly in great shape.
- There have been no talks of any contract extensions for current players to this point. Guys like Roger McCreary, Chig Okonkwo, and Amani Hooker would be the most obvious candidates.
