McGregor 2.0? Topuria Breaks The Bank For Private Jet

WHAT'S THE STORY?

Ilia Topuria is living a life of luxury as one of the biggest UFC stars in the sport today and this includes flights from Spain to the U.S. on a cozy (and very pricey) private jet.

In case you weren’t following along, Topuria is now UFC’s undisputed lightweight king after easily stopping Charles Oliveira via knockout back at UFC 317 (watch HERE). Before that, Topuria had turned in back-to-back knockout finishes over featherweight legends Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway to win and defend the belt

before vacating it for his move to 155 pounds.

Topuria’s in-cage success, incredible knockout streak, and uncanny ability to predict how he’ll finish his opponents reminds fight fans of Conor McGregor when he started having so much success inside of the Octagon. McGregor quickly rose the ranks to become the promotion’s biggest star of all time, which in turn led to a life full of riches and reward.

While Topuria isn’t quite where McGregor was during his heyday, “El Matador” is certainly on his way. The newly-crowned UFC lightweight champion still has some work to do inside of the cage, but his life outside of fighting is already one full of first-class pleasures. For instance, Topuria must fly on a private jet when he travels to the United States despite the fact that it costs the Spanish star $100,000 each way.

“A private jet saves a ton of time,” said Topuria during a recent stream with the Nelk Boys. “When you go from economy to business, you never want to go back to economy. When you go from business to first class, you never want to go back to business. And it’s the same with a private jet — you don’t want to go back to what it was. Now I always fly private.”

“$200,000,” said the UFC champion when asked how much his private flights cost. “A hundred there, a hundred back.”

Maybe Topuria is a carbon copy of McGregor after all. Thoughts?
