Day 4 of Cleveland Browns training camp took place on Friday. Here is our recap of the session.

Cleveland Browns Training Camp Report - Day 4 (7/26/25)

1. Tillman is OK: One of the biggest stories of training camp yesterday came when WR Cedric Tillman left the field to a lower leg injury. Before Saturday’s practice, head coach Kevin Stefanski revealed that Tillman was OK, and was expected to practice. He also confirmed that OL Tevin Jenkins and CB Tony Brown are dealing with minor injuries.

2. 7-on-7 Grain of Salt: When you hear about completion percentages in training camp, you sometimes have to take them with a grain of salt. They can matter, but context of everything matters too. QB Kenny Pickett was up first in the drill, followed by QB Joe Flacco. When QB Shedeur Sanders’ turn came, he was 3-of-3, but all of his completions were checkdowns like this:

3. Depth Chart Notes: When starting units are on the field in 11-on-11 drills, it’s always interesting in camp to point out when certain players are in for regular starters, as it could be indicative of their spot on the depth chart. Per Zac Jackson, they began with Jackson Barton in at right tackle on offense, and Chris Edmonds taking Grant Delpit’s spot at safety. Dan Labbe also noted that DE Cameron Thomas saw some action with the first-team defense.

4. Emerson Down: A day after Stefanski said he expects a bounceback year for CB Martin Emerson, the cornerback was seen heading inside the building with a medical trainer. Fortunately, he came back to the field before the end of practice.

5. Quarterbacks Shine: If the perception was that the quarterbacks struggled on Day 3 of practice, the reverse was true for Day 4, as they were getting the highlights in. It started with QB Shedeur Sanders getting this 25-yard touchdown pass off to WR Luke Floriea:

Speaking of Floriea, I need to point out that I’m seeing his name come up a lot in camp with catches. Again, context matters, but what it’s telling me is that at the very least, the quarterbacks seem to be throwing toward his direction often.

6. Hold My Beer: When it was QB Dillon Gabriel’s turn for red zone drills, he also got a nice touchdown pass off to WR DeAndre Carter in the right corner of the end zone, after some motion:

7. Drill of the Day: Is this a big year for DE Alex Wright? He showed a knack for getting sacks the past couple of years, before his injury last year:

8. Pickett to Whiteheart: For the offense’s sake, at least we’re not seeing interceptions left and right with all the different quarterbacks. Here is QB Kenny Pickett throwing one to TE Blake Whiteheart. Again, here is where stats and context matter. If you look at the QB tracker that ESPN still logs, you’ll see Flacco with no touchdowns, and Pickett with two. You can’t think to yourself that those stats will have any meaning to the coaches’ staff decision, when things like sacks, etc. don’t happen, when there are drills specifically set up for the quarterbacks, when there are less reps (i.e. Flacco didn’t play as much).

9. Brownies: RB Jerome Ford and WR Michael Woods remained out with injuries. ... Cleveland has been doing an opportunity period for rookies after practice, where they get to have some extra work in on team drills. ... Bernie Kosar was at camp again, engaging with fans. ... Cleveland will be in pads for the first time this Monday.

10. Next Up: The Browns are off Sunday. They will practice in pads for the first time on Monday at 2:00 pm. It will be the third of eight practices open to the public. The theme will be “University Hospitals Rainbow Day.” The food truck will be Sugardale. The giveaway will be Koozies, courtesy of Gregory Industries.
